Resistance 2 is an alternate history first person shooter video game developed by Insomniac Games, and is to be published by SCEA, exclusively for the PlayStation 3. the highly anticipated follow-up to the best-selling PS 3 game PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man.
In Resistance 2, the Chimera have launched a full scale invasion on both the east and west coasts of the United States. Protagonist Nathan Hale joins "The Sentinels," a special task force of soldiers who are also resistant to the Chimeran virus. Hale will fight the Chimera in various locations in the United States with "The Sentinels" as he struggles against overwhelming odds to defend mankind from the unstoppable Chimera.
While wrestling with this insidious war machine, Hale must also battle the virus raging inside of his own body that threatens to transform him into the very creatures he fights against. Developed by Insomniac Games' 3rd generation PS 3 technology, Resistance 2 will deliver unprecedented console gaming breakthroughs with a standalone eight-player, class-based online co-op campaign and 60-player online competitive multiplayer. An epic single-player campaign will feature a new weapons arsenal to combat giant boss encounters that increase the scale of the conflict to new heights. And players will enjoy a new level of community support.
