Alone in the Dark

Alone in the DarkSet during 2008, the story continues with Edward Carnby, the main protagonist from the original game, looking for answers to strange supernatural and bizarre occurrences while battling his way through the opposition in New York City's Central Park.

Alone in the Dark, originally known as Alone in the Dark 5 and Alone in the Dark: Near Death Investigation, is the 5th installation of the survival horror video game series under the same name created by Infogrames.

Alone in the Dark will provide a complete next-generation, action-packed experience within a highly detailed, free-roaming environment, featuring a mixture of astonishing real-time physics and full environmental interaction. Taking inspiration from the presentation style and structure of a number of acclaimed and globally popular TV action dramas, Alone in the Dark is split into distinct episodes in a season-style format. Eden Games has departed from the typical ten hour game based on film-style scripts and structures and focuses on TV-season format in order to deliver a constant sustained pace and high level of narrative intensity.

The game will be released on PC, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP. All projects are being developed by Eden Games, but the PS2 and Wii versions are being created alongside Hydravision Entertainment.

Mistwalker is developing the title, with cooperation with a studio named Feel Plus, a subsidiary of Microsoft created specifically to aid Mistwalker. XBox 360's BIOSHOCK now a movie?!

BioShock is a unusual video game that mixes a spine-chilling setting pictured w/ art deco art and architecture, sci-fi themes of bio-genetic mutation and self-modification, a deep storyline with open-choice freedom to interact with the world, and first-person action that requires you to think every time you pull the trigger.

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.

January 10, 2008 - Ever since it debuted last August, the hit 2K Games first-person shooter BioShock has been cited by gamers and industry pundits alike as source material that's ripe for a Hollywood adaptation. Now a new report suggests that such a film may be indeed on the horizon.

According to Joystiq.com, "A reliable source within a major film production company has told Joystiq that the two have been getting along famously, with a movie adaptation of 2K's successful franchise already being discussed by the Big Daddies internally."

The site adds, "The studio hopes to bring the fallen aquatic utopia of Rapture to celluloid life through extensive use of green screen technology, an approach not dissimilar to Legendary Pictures' interpretation of 300. If the computer generated approach is deemed feasible and fitting, the focus can then shift to capturing BioShock's secondary (and uninhabited) characters." more

Soul Calibur IV

Soul Calibur IV Video GameSoulcalibur IV will re-introduce classic warriors from the series as well as introduce new characters that will bring new conflict and intrigue. Namco has announced that the game will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008, Soulcalibur IV promises to propel the fighting genre into the next-gen era. With visually realistic environments, interactive stages, enhanced AI, and a new battle system, Soulcalibur IV will be at the top of everyone's wish list.

Soulcalibur IV is the 5th installment in Namco's Soul series of fighting games. It is confirmed that the game will be released at Summer 2008 in Japan, North America and Europe. The game is unlikely to be released on the Wii although it has not been denied as of yet. For the first time in the series history, the game will have competitive online play. An arcade version has not yet been announced, making it the second game in the franchise to not be released in the arcades first. Soulcalibur IV's E3 trailer states that the warriors head slowly towards its inevitable conclusion, allowing speculation as to if Soulcalibur IV could be the last game in the series. But nothing of that sort has yet been confirmed. More information on Soulcalibur IV will be released at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Two characters are confirmed in the January's Consumer Electronics Show : Darth Vader and Yoda from Star Wars. Some fans are shocked about this 2 guests characters (due to characters futurist look). Darth Vader is playable in the PlayStation 3 version and Yoda is playable in the Xbox 360 version.

MAFIA II

Halo Wars Video GamesMafia II is the sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. The developer is Illusion Softworks and the publisher is 2K Games. Development of Mafia 2 was announced on August 21, 2007.

Like the original Mafia title, Mafia 2 immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940's-early 1950's scenario. Players will easily become engaged in the game's cinematic Hollywood movie experience with strong, believable characters in a living, breathing city. By fusing high octane gunplay with white knuckle driving and an engaging narrative, Mafia 2 looks to be the industry's most compelling Mafia title to date. It will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. DirectX 10 or OpenGL compatibility is still unknown. Mafia II (or Mafia 2) is a historical third-person shooter computer game.
